March 2020 and COVID-19 has thrown the whole of the country into a new way of working. Including Unique Employment Services. As the crisis progressed through the month, we have done everything we can to make sure that we’re protecting our staff and our clients as best we can. As lockdown has taken its toll on many businesses, some of our customers have had to temporarily close their doors – while others, especially in food and distribution, have needed our support to help them cope with unprecedented demand. Here are our updates as they happened throughout the month.
27/02/20 – Useful information about your legal rights as employers and employees when it comes to COVID-19.
03/03/20 – Like many businesses, we’re keen to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 so we’ve put together a few short points to do what we can at this early stage.
We suggest all in house Unique staff have anti-bacterial wash to hand on their desks and we encourage everyone to use it including any candidates coming into the office to register.
The current advice is to self isolate and NOT go to a hospital or doctors surgery. Instead, call NHS Direct on 111 and follow their guidance or if it’s an emergency call 999.
For workers please let us know if you think you have COVID-19. We will immediately let the client know and will update them if the diagnosis is confirmed.
For our Unique employees, if you think you may have COVID-19, call your manager, self-isolate, call NHS Direct on 111 and follow their guidance or if it’s an emergency call 999. If you are diagnosed with Coronavirus normal sick pay policy applies.
We ask anyone working for us or visiting us to let us know if you have recently returned from high-risk areas:
China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Iran, northern Italy, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma) Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
26/03/20 – We’re here for you! Whatever’s going on in the world.
In light of the Government announcements this week we want you to know we are maintaining as normal an operational service to our workers and clients as we can.
The continuing spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) means we’re all having to adjust to how we live and work. We take our responsibility to protect our staff, workers and clients very seriously. Our priority is always to ensure the health and well-being of our team and we are doing everything we can to provide the right service to everyone.
There are some key updates we’ve implemented which include most of our employees adopting either a working-from-home or closed-door policy and they will continue to work with you as normal – they can be easily reached on the usual branch contact lines and out of hours lines, all remaining the
same and operating as usual.
We will be having daily team updates and sharing of information to allow us to best support our clients and workers. We’d like to assure you that we’re doing everything we can to ensure all your recruitment needs are met and operations continue as normal.
Rest assured that this will not impact the support or relationships that have been built and we will endeavour to continue the service you have been accustomed to.
